-Please mark next to the area(s) for which you want to be certified-

 STANDARDS FOR FARM PRODUCTS

To become Greenbrier Valley Grown certified and market products with the GVG logo, the LICENSEE must comply with the following standards:

  • The farm is a local farm, defined as one that is owned by a Greenbrier Valley resident family or individual(s) with responsibility for its financial and operational management.
  • The individual certifying the farm is the farm owner or operator.
  •  Products marketed as Greenbrier Valley Grown are produced on the GVG certified farm or on another GVG certified farm.
  • Nursery plants and trees marketed as Greenbrier Valley Grown have spent at least 75% of their time since propagation or at least 1 year on a GVG certified farm.
  • For meat marketed as GVG, the processed animal must have spent 75% of its life after weaning on the GVG certified farm or on another GVG certified farm.

 STANDARDS FOR FRESHLY PREPARED FOODS

Foods that are freshly prepared are those offered or otherwise displayed on a menu or served ready to eat. To use the GVG logo on freshly prepared foods, the LICENSEE must comply with the following standards:

  • Any ingredients included in the name of the menu item must be from GVG certified farms.
  • 51% or greater by weight (meats) or volume of the ingredients of the menu item must be from a GVG certified farm.
  • Such menu items and their ingredients are subject to review to determine their compatibility with GVG standards. This means that the logo should be used to showcase dishes that feature ingredients from GVG farms and not dishes with token amounts of locally grown ingredients.

To become GVG certified and market products with the GVG logo, the LICENSEE must comply with the following standards.
