The Grange is a place to get to know your fellow farmers and neighbors in the Greenbrier Valley. Every month we feature one farm in detail as our "Featured Farmer". We also highlight restaurants, retail, and Farmer's Markets in our program. Look for the Featured Farmer article in the LB SPY arts and entertainment newspaper. Keep up with us on Facebook for weekly updates!
Greenbrier Valley Grown (GVG) is a non-profit local foods certification program that works to provide consumers in southeastern West Virginia with factual information about where their food is produced.
The Greenbrier Valley Grown logo certifies that “local” foods are truly locally produced, so when consumers see the GVG logo (on a product, at a restaurant, or at the local farmers' market), they can be assured that the foods being sold as "local" truly are local.
Greenbrier Valley Grown offers certification standards for food producers, value-added product producers, farmers’ markets, retail outlets, and businesses that serve freshly prepared foods, such as restaurants. When a consumer sees the Greenbrier Valley Grown logo on a product, menu, storefront window, or farmers’ market sign, the consumer can be assured that that food is truly locally-produced within the Greenbrier Valley.
The farms that are certified through the Greenbrier Valley Grown (GVG) program are located within the Greenbrier Valley of West Virginia; these farms grow and sell their own products and are proud to produce local food.
The restaurants, value-added products, and other food businesses that are certified under the GVG program are dedicated to using meats and produce from GVG Certified farms.
